On the whole, the crisis has led to the displacement of more than two million people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the most northern province of Cameroon (Extreme North Region) at the end of December 2020, there were 437,000 people fleeing conflict, most of them internally displaced. In the areas to which the families have fled, the schools are completely overcrowded. Around 200 children make up a class, and are taught sitting under trees or in other temporary shelters.<\/p>\n<p>Primarily intended as support for the students, this project is also helping teaching staff. There are not enough school buildings or classrooms, making it very difficult to teach lessons or offer other important activities. The cost of building a primary school with two classrooms costs approx. \u20ac20,000.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the support of the Redel Foundation, four new primary schools have been
